Hunt Cup

Hunt Cup being the most popular race of the season, we always tend to step up our tailgates and this year was no exception!

Even the dogs put on their best for Hunt Cup, we just loved his bow tie!

The weather wasn't exactly what we hoped for, so we switched out the sundresses for jean and Hunters.

Even though it wasn't the best weather we all bundled up and had a good time!

Luckily the weather held off and we were all able to stay dry while watching the race,

And what a good race it was!!

Even though it was a cold and slightly rainy day, it was a great end to another wonderful race season....now if only next year will hurry up and we can start all over again!

Grand National

Today we brought our own Southsides....because in all honesty no one wants to share such a delicious drink!

Goose was all ready for the races with his racing silks tie!

eBr was so happy some of the Federal Hill girls could make it out to the country to spend such a gorgeous day with us.

It was a great day for the races.

After the races we met up with friends and fellow tailgaters at the Worthington Tavern on Falls Rd for a post races drink.  Such a fun day but we were definitely beat by the end!

Ladew After Party

Every year after Manor Races there is an amazing after party at Ladew Gardens complete with band and wonderful food and drinks!

eBr of course couldn't turn down a delicious southside!  It was just too bad they ran out!

Last year was a torrential downpour, so we made sure to take advantage of the beautiful gardens after missing out last year.

Manor Races

My Lady's Manor is by far one of our favorite races of the season.  You are able to get so close to the race, it makes for a really good time.

We were lucky enough to tailgate right by one of the jumps making for great views all day!

Our other favorite sight of the day was Goose and his opposite twin!  They had to have planned it to match that well...

cCe's Faux Spring Break

While we both have been out of undergrad for 2 years now, I (cCe) still enjoy participating in Little C's spring break trips, especially when they are funded by our parents. I have never been on a spring break trip with friends before because it has always seemed like a better idea to go with my family (nicer hotels and food, an actual relaxing vacation, etc). This year we decided to venture to Vero Beach, FL for the first time. When I arrived on Tuesday night, my family had already been there for 3 days. I had to at least attempt to act like a grown-up and go to work on Monday and Tuesday.

Every morning we got up and rode our bikes around the island and saw beautiful houses and nature.

We would end our ride by going to eat lunch somewhere then return back to the hotel to relax on the beach for the rest of the day. I would highly recommend the Vero Beach Hotel and Spa. Not only is it the nicest hotel on the island, it is more importantly the quietest. It just so happens that the McDonogh varsity lacrosse team was staying at our hotel. They were there for a training trip and to play the Vero Beach team that was 69 games undefeated. The game was a blowout with McDonogh beating them 15-5. Way to rep the 410!

One of our favorite nights was when we went out to the Riverside Bar and Grille. In addition to good food, there was a band playing call the Landsharks. They actually used to play with Jimmy Buffett in the 80s and were phenomenal.
Another obviously important stop on our trip was the shopping. The shopping in Vero beach is a preppy girl's dream. There are little boutiques that carry all sorts of things in addition to the ever important Lilly store. We obviously had to make a stop in the store. Even Little C got excited about all things Lilly for once. We both found dresses for Preakness almost 2 months in advance.

One of the most memorable parts of the trip was renting a boat for the day. We went out on the Indian River and saw dolphins and manatees.

Mid-afternoon we decided to stop for drinks as Captain Hiram's. Little C insisted on getting a drink in a coconut while Babs was set on a bucket of voodoo juice.

All in all it was a fabulous and extremely relaxing vacation. I would definitely recommended for anyone looking to stop and slow down for a few days. While I will always love Miami, I will definitely be going back to Vero sometime soon.

Elkridge Harford Point to Point

This weekend was Elkridge Harford Point to Point and we were lucky enough to have some great weather.

While all the races were great, our favorite was the pony races for the little kids!

This little guy was bringing up the rear, too cute!!

All in all it was a great day spent with good friends!

Nordstrom Trend Show

About a week ago I attended the Nordstrom Spring Trend Show with my good friend Rands and had such an amazing time!
We knew it'd be a fun morning of great make up and fashion, but we had no idea there would be eye candy too!
The hostess was absolutely hilarious! She had us all in stitches even at 8am on a Saturday!

While all the clothes were beautiful, this combo was my favorite...though I'm not sure I can pull off that hat!

They had some amazing giveaways! We were both crossing our fingers for the Creme de la Mer gift box, but no such luck!

Thanks so much to Rands for suggesting such a fun morning!

Sunday Gunday

One of my favorite things about spring is that Sunday Gunday makes a triumphant return. While the weather wasn't especially springy, going shooting is one of those things that signal to me the end of winter!

Goose was nice enough to invite MeMe and I to go shooting with him and we jumped at the chance for a brief escape from the city. The family farm is the perfect place for shooting in addition to being a gorgeous landscape!

MeMe and I shot first, while Goose manned the launcher. Neither of us were hitting anything so I let Goose take over and show us how it's done!

After a little more practice, I was as good as I was last Spring! Not like that is saying much!

To be completely honest, I think I'm much better at driving the Gator than I am at shooting clays!

Thank you soo much to Goose and his family for inviting us out for an absolutely wonderful day!

And They're Off!

Greenspring Valley Point to Point marked the start of Maryland Steeplechase season and cCe and I couldn't be more excited!  This is by far our favorite time of year!
