Hands down, one of the greatest things in life has got to be ice cream. It can cure everything from a bad day to a sore mouth when you get dental work done.
On my visit home this weekend, Marketing Mommy wanted to introduce me to her new favorite spot in town. It takes a lot for her to crave ice cream so you know that when she is, it's got to be AMAZING.
Let me say, the ice cream did not disappoint. We started to take this beautiful drive out through the country roads and ended up at a big barn in the middle of a field.

In the field directly next to the barn live all of the cows that produce that milk for the ice cream. Completely grass fed, you know you are getting the highest quality ice cream possible. They were certified organic in 2008 and don't feed their cows any antibiotics or synthetic hormones.
There are a multitude of flavors to choose from and they will let you try as many as you'd like. They will even create homemade ice cream sandwiches for you from any of the ice creams on fresh chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin cookies. I went with the Butter Pecan and it was hands down the best ice cream I have ever had.
In addition to their ice cream, the creamery also sells fresh milk and eggs (sorry for the terrible picture quality).
We saw many people taking advantage of the blankets and sitting down in the grass with their families to enjoy the ice cream. As we were getting ready to leave, the cows began to line up for their nightly trek to the field across the street. Believe it or not, they know that as soon as they see the farmer coming across the road, it is time to line up. It was one of the craziest things I have ever seen.
In addition to people coming to enjoy the ice cream and the nightly cow parade, the creamery does Friday night concert events where people can bring a picnic and listen to a concert put on by a local band.
If you ever have a free afternoon or evening, you have got to go try their ice cream.
It is worth the drive!
